Adult Swim's Leading Fresh Series of 2025 Gets a Substantial Renewal for Seasons 2 and 3.
In October of last year, Adult Swim welcomed back its offbeat hit, Smiling Friends. Yet, shortly thereafter, the channel launched a completely new animated series with a markedly softer vibe. Haha, You Clowns proved to be heartwarming and calm, evoking a animated take of a serene talk show. During a period often defined by bleakness, this show's sincerity struck a chord and helped it become a surprise hit.
A Major Commitment
On December 18th, the network confirmed a big renewal: Haha, You Clowns has been renewed for two more seasons. This gives showrunner Joe Cappa ample opportunity to expand upon the world of the Campbell family. The show follows three polite teenage brothers whose central trait is their deep love for their single father, with Cappa voicing for all four key characters.
"I’m so grateful to the fans of the show who took a chance on the show and helped it grow," said Cappa. "I am overjoyed that I get to hang out at the Campbell household for the foreseeable future."
Network Praise
Accompanying the news praise from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who called the series as "profoundly sincere and uniquely eerie." He specifically highlighted the fans who discovered the show and supported its distinctly quirky appeal.
"All of you got behind this new show, rooted for it on social media, and helped it grow week over week so we could approve not one, but two more seasons," said Ouweleen. "As the show says: 'You are strong! You are loved!'"

In earlier interviews, creator Joe Cappa shared his desire to evolve comedy past its long-running cynical streak. He traced this trend to various cultural shifts.
“We're stuck in a cycle of irony that we are trapped in,” noted Cappa. “It feels as if we have to know we’re the smartest person in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for a decade, and we must laugh at something different now. Comedy has to evolve.”
