Devoted supporters of Ariana Grande are urging that a man who breached a barricade and grabbed the actress during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A widely shared clip reveals the individual from Australia bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the performers made its way down a promenade accompanied by fans.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being taken in", though legal records indicated that he was due to be present on the following morning. It is unknown if he was charged.

Record of Disruptions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram feed contains videos of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the area last year.

"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is obviously a legal violation," stated an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" one Instagram user remarked.

Followers Voice Worry Over Grande's Well-being

Several supporters criticized Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote another message on Instagram.

A number of fans also questioned security officers at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while others called for online networks to ban Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Event Details

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande looked surprised when she was grabbed by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.

Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.

Fans at Wicked premiere
Hundreds of Singapore fans had lined up to meet the performers of Wicked

Hundreds of supporters had gathered in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore mall, including several who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The film, to be launched on November 21, is the sequel of a two-part interpretation of the well-known Broadway and West End show Wicked, which centers on the unlikely bond between two very different sorceresses.

The musical itself is a spin-off of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.

They were joined by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful movie of 2024 in the UK, and scored a dozen award recognitions, earning several for best costume and production design.
