Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, however can the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

A family member advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
