Alina Habba has stepped down as the US Attorney for New Jersey. This comes after a judicial decision that challenged her right to occupy the role.

The nation's top law enforcement official, the Attorney General, announced the prosecutor's departure on Monday. Bondi stated that the judicial decision made it unworkable for her to perform her duties.
"Let no one confuse adherence to the ruling as defeat," Habba stated. "The effort will now stretch across America."

The judicial panel declared that a temporary posting that did not receive the advice and consent of the Senate violated the statute on vacant positions.

Habba, originally became part of Donald Trump's lawyers in 2021. Subsequently, she acted for the former president in his hush-money trial in 2024, leading to his guilty verdict on dozens of charges of falsifying business records.
