The Reform UK leader Accuses Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his perspective on British schools, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They promote this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union dismissed the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks suggested the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We face an enormous task with schooling – truly monumental. And, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment tonight and I will follow through.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
