Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the 2025 Young Sports Star of the Year award.

These three athletes have been celebrated for their outstanding achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin rose to fame with a historic innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.

The champion will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on Thursday, 18 December.

The ceremony will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being nominated for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, smashing the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a highlight for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more girls to get into cricket."
