Trump Welcomes Families of Injured National Guard Members to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the presidential home.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Shooting

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a shooting on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their honor.

White House Call

The president stated he’s talked about a White House visit for the parents of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump addressed the press. “And similarly with him, no matter the outcome.”

Community Support

Mourners came together over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the state guard as part of the president’s government program to support policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers desired. She behaved with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that inspired people around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the media. “She was caring, caring and always eager to assist people.”

Service plans for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Judicial Actions and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have accused a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The tragedy prompted the administration to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop providing entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, according to the news agency.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia governor the governor mentioned on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she aimed to speak to the family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with distinction, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had fortitude,” Morrisey addressed the audience at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
